Hinda Mondlak Goldman lived through years of heinous abuse at the Auschwitz concentration camp.  She died in the arms of her son, Moises J. Goldman, PhD, on May 5, 1985.  “My mother’s last wish was for me, her son, to tell her horrific and triumphant story in a public way,” Moises says.

In this powerful episode, Scott speaks with Moises Goldman and Sherry Maysonave, the author that helped Moises tell his mother's story in the book Tatae's Promise. We spoke about Hinda's life in the ghetto in Poland, her father's murder at the hands of the Nazis, Hinda's time in Auschwitz, her incredible escape with her younger sister, her life after the war, and of course, recording the tapes that told her incredible story that ended up in the writing of Tatae's Promise.
